Life Does'nt Always Stick To The Plan
Black And Blue in Bridgeport tells the story of a young Black man coming of age in the 70's, growing up in one of Bridgeport, Connecticut's Housing Projects (P.T. Barnum housing projects), starting out poor and on welfare, raised by a single mother along with 5 other children. The book progresses to his decision to leave corporate America to become a police officer in one of the most racist departments in the state. It details his Academy experience, covering an incident that changed the direction of his law enforcement career forever, along with the rest of the highlights and lowlights and his experiences along the way, his interaction with the court system, Black Police fraternal organizations and even more personal encounters. Finally his ultimate retirement from the department after 25 years and his run for mayor in 2015.
